Red, White & Black for Day 1 – #MFW19

Hi beauties! Welcome back to my Blog!

I am sooo excited that Malta Fashion Week is back with many more designers and collections! I have been entrusted with a Media Pass A this year – which means that I can show you all the collections I have seen!

For the first night, I was sponsored by Twenty2 boutique for my clothing and Danita’s Nailhouse for my nails! I simply loved this outfit – and it was super comfortable!

We started the night on a high note with Rosemarie Abela showcasing her collection called ‘The Cure’. The colour palette for this collection was white, black and red – very appropriate and relative to the theme! These are some of my favourite looks shot by Mark Soler!

Architecture in Fashion came all the way from Switzerland to showcase their amazing collection. I simply adored the unique pieces – especially the bags which were by Veni Morgan! This is my ultimate favourite look from the collection! This was shot by Steven Muliett.

The last collection of the night was by Drew & Crew! Drew Warhurst has been a stylist for many years- and I fell in love with this collection. These shots are taken by Mark Soler. 60838982_10218286846579196_1698793615792275456_n60905022_10218286849099259_3954955329543864320_n61063419_10218286846699199_1317663964611477504_n60602590_10218286846299189_1055552899494445056_n

Hi beauties! Welcome to my second blog post of the day!

In this blog post, I’ll be sharing with you all the collections that were showcased yesterday at Malta Fashion Week!

Starting off with my look of the day! I would like to start by thanking 019 Hair Design for transforming my hair into pink heaven – I simply loved how it looks! My headband and shirt were both sponsored by local designer Maria Cutajar who was also showcasing her collection for the night! The pants were sewn by my mother and I super last minute!

Shot by Mark Soler

The night started off with the collaboration with two female bosses who have made a big impact in the Maltese Fashion industry. Isle & Aqua X Yana’s Jewellery worked together to showcase this very fun, tribal-inspired collection! These photos were taken by Mark Soler.

The beautiful designers of the collection.

The next collection was inspired by Casa Blanca and I adored the collection! La Couleur Invisible by Maria Cutajar showcased the vibrant and fun colours used after World War II and gave a spotlight to the Moroccan style! These photos were taken by Mark Soler.

With Maria Cutajar herself!

The third and final show of the night was by Agatha Ruiz De La Prada. This collection was super colourful and fun – and I enjoyed every single look! These photos were taken by Bernard Polidano.

Day 2 was an absolute blast! Stay tuned for Day 3 coming tomorrow!

Everything that went down during the MET GALA 2019.

Hi beauties! Welcome back to my blog!

If you have been on social media this morning, then you’re bound to have seen an outfit or look by a celebrity who went to the MET GALA of the year. This is my second consecutive year writing about my favourite outfits worn by celebrities on the carpet.

This year I got curious and research on what the Met Gala really is. According to the information I gathered while going through different articles on, The Met Gala always takes place on the First Monday of May. As per tradition, this years’ theme is “Camp”.

met theme
Find out more here!:

Taking place in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the guests enjoyed an evening dinner performance by Cher. Right before the dinner, the night began with the carpet and cocktail hour while they’re free to roam the new exhibition.

Celebrities were all over the event, which is expected annually. I compiled some of my favourite looks which were a part of the theme – meaning the extravaganza or simpleness of the outfit made the theme stand out. (Can you believe that Lady Gaga wore not 2, but 5 Brandon Maxwell dresses on the same carpet? :O )

DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of the information/photographs, I got them from

Katy Perry wearing Moschino (is Sia suing? :O ).
Florence Welch wearing this very theme appropriate gown.
Corey Gamble and Kris Jenner.
Anna Wintour wearing this gorgoeus SS19 themed Chanel outfit.
Gigi Hadid wearing full-on Michael Kors outfit.
Celine Dion wearing this gorgeous Oscar de la Renta head-to-toe outfit.
Serena Williams wearing dreamy Versace piece.

Harry Styles wearing a simple yet avantgarde Gucci outfit.
Lady Gaga wearing Brandon Maxwell for her first dress of the night.
Lady Gaga wearing Brandon Maxwell for the second time that night.
Ryan Murphy wearing this god-sent piece by Christian Siriano.
Charli XCX wearing this beautiful gown by Jean Paul Gaultier.
Kylie and Kendall Jenner who were wearing Versace brought out their inner elements.
Cardi B wearing this feathery Thom Browne gown and head-piece.
Kacey Musgraves wearing this dreamy Barbie outfit by Moschino.
Billy Porter put every theme related outfit to shame in this masterpiece by the Blonds.
Lupita Nyong’o wearing this gorgeous and fun piece by Versace.
Jared Leto wearing head-to-toe Gucci. Men, ditch your black suits and take note.

That is a compilation of all my favourite looks from this years’ Met Gala! Did I miss anything? Let me know in the comment section below or on my Instagram @hey_its_samii!

Changing captions on my favourite outfits worn by YouTubers for Coachella 2019!

Howdy beauties 🤠 (I’ll never do that again, I promise 😂!)

Since it’s that time of the year when you’re stuck in your room studying for finals while the world is buzzing about the festival of the year, I decided to compile a list of my favourite outits worn by well known YouTubers!

Obviously, I had to put my own spin on it – so I decided to caption them according to what first comes to mind when I see these photos.

This is literally a #noteanoshade kind on blog post, but since I’ve been missing from this blog for a while, I decided to let my inner self come out and share some sarcastic comments. I love all these outfits and YouTubers ❤️!

James Charles

“When the burger place tells you they have no buns left 🙄🤠”

Liza Koshy

“2001 Britney Spears and Justin Timerlake are jealous. Also, I got this for a dollar…a dollar…A DOLLAR”

Antonio Garza

“Just a bunch of angels 👼 in one photo”

Lele Pons

“On the way to Coachella, in the middle of the desert 🐫, a Little Pony threw up on me 🤮🙄”

Ethan Dolan

“These are my X-RAY goggles, jealous? 😉”

LaurDIY and TiffanyMa

“Opposites attracts 😩 #shewearsblackiwearwhite”

Gabbie Hanna

“Welp, I look hella fine but I didn’t actually go to coachella. #sorryfortrickingyall #itsphotoshop 🤯”

Remi Ashten

“I upgraded from last year 🤷‍♀️ #progressbabyprogress”

Adelaine Morin and Matt.

“He was probably saying something like beepbop 💛”

Grayson Dolan

“Don’t you hate it when your expensive blue shirt looks like I stuck my head in a toilet seat 🙄 ugh 😫”

Emma Chamberlain

“My inspiration for this outfit was a piñata 🤷‍♀️”

Nikita Dragun

“So f*ckîńg caption needed sis 🛎”

Alisha and Remi Ashten.

“Dark Fantasy who? 👯‍♀️”

David Dobrik

“I borrowed Harry Potter’s shades 🕶 don’t you wish ya girlfriend was hot like me? 🤔”

Nikita Dragun and Bretman Rock

“Sugar bear don’t deserve that much clout – Tana Mongeau🤠”

Adelaine Morin

“If your ex-friends are snakes, don’t throw them away – just wear their skin 🤪🤯”

Nicolette Gray

“Ugh, I casually have an artist pass to Coachella. Ugh, I guess this’ll do 🙄🤩”

Olivia Rouyre

“Coachella is LITERALLY in the middle of the desert. So why not prepare for the warmth 🥵 and cold 🥶 ?”

THAT’S ALL 💛 again, this is not meant to offend anyone but it was so much fun to write so I hope you enjoyed reading it too!

I’ll see you soon! ❤️🤩

Samira ❤️

What I use for a full coverage make-up look! ACNE PRONE SKIN!

Hi beauties! Welcome back to A Maltese Fashion Addict!

Following yesterday’s blog post- which was all about my journey with acne – today I decided to share with you my favourite products to use for a full coverage effect!

DISCLAIMER: Products that work for my skin might not work for yours – so be sure to test patch each product to avoid allergic reactions. I also want to add that you don’t need make-up in order to feel confident or in order to hide your scars, yet I know that during certain events/photos, one might want that flawless look.

A new step I recently introduced in my make-up routine is a primer. This Catrice primer ensures a solid base to lay all that heavy make-up products without harming the skin!
Product Description: Catrice Cosmetics HD Active Performance Primer (SPF30) – Water & Sweatproof / Pore minimizing effect.

My next step after priming is to use a skin perfector before applying foundation. This fills acne scars while still leaving the skin looking natural!
Product Description: Catrice Cosmetics 1 minute face perfector in 010.

After these steps, I usually apply BB cream or something light. While this step might seem unnecessary, I noticed that my make-up lasts longer when I incorporate this product into my everyday routine!
Product description: Essence You Better Work (Gym-proof and waterproof) Tinted day cream – anti-shine and skin perfecting in 10 light.

It’s finally foundation time! This is the product where you have to be cautious of the brand, ingredients, and consistency according to your face. My skin is combination – oily, so I have to tip-toe around certain products to ensure a flawless finish. I’m not going to lie, this foundation which works for me nowadays didn’t always work for me, and that is why I always recommend a test patch!
Product description: Flormar Smooth Touch Foundation SPF 20 in 06 Beige.

One thing which I learned over time is that full-coverage foundation in a shade lighter then my skin works even better than concealer! It’s easier to blend plus it excludes all those dark circles!
Product description: Catrice Cosmetics 24hr Made to stay make-up. (Lasts up to 24 hours, Perfect coverage and mattifying with anti-oxidants.) in 005 Ivory Beige.

Next step is eyebrows, and I swear by this product! There isn’t much to it really – yet it makes it so easy to fill in your eyebrows! I clean the eyebrow up with the previous foundation and thin concealer brush.
Product description: Rimmel Browshake filling powder in dark brown.

After brows is baking time. This step is extremely important to remove excess shine and to ensure that the product doesn’t move during the day!
Product description: Catrice Cosmetics Glow illusion loose powder in translucent radiance fixing powder.

Contouring is the best way to balance out all the shades in the face – and I found that using a bronzer always helps achieve that sunkissed glow without making the contour too obvious!
Product description: Wycon cosmetics Bronzing powder.

Next step is eyes! While I won’t spare you on every detail, I decided to share with you my favourite 3 eyeshadow palettes! I top it all of using a bold, black eyeliner!
Product descriptions: Palettes – Essence Hello New York eyeshadow palette, Essence G’day Sydney eyeshadow palette and the James Charles X Morphe palette. Eyeliner – Wet n’ Wild in bold black.

Personally, no look is done without a few coats of mascara! I simply love layering different products to create a falsie effect without the discomfort of actually wearing them! I usually compile these 3 products!
Product descriptions: Catrice cosmetics the little black one volume mascara in true black, Essence cosmetics You Better Work Volume and Curl mascara (mascara and gym-proof) & Catrice Cosmetics Glam & Doll boost Lash growth mascara.

Tight lining is not something I do often, however, when I want my eyes to pop, I usually don’t use a pencil liner since I learned that the product tends to move or melt over time. That is why I now use a thin and delicate eyeshadow brush and use an eyeshadow. This is the best way to make sure the product doesn’t move!
Product description: I use the shade spooky from the James Charles X Morphe Palette.

Highlighting is something I’ve been doing for ages – and ever since I got this Essence highlighter a few weeks ago, I can’t imagine finding something better and more blinding for the same affordable price!
Product description: Essence Insta perfect liquid highlighter in 10.

Lips are the last thing I do – and before applying any product, I love to use the Sephora Lipbalm to remove the possibility of having crusty lips! I decided to share with you 4 of my favourite lip products in my collection!
Product descriptions: Catrice Cosmetics plumping gel lipstick in 090 (Red), Catrice Cosmetics plumping gel lipstick in 010 (nude), 3INA Matte liquid lipstick in 503 (Nude) and HeriCosmetics in Vengeance (Plumy red).

I then lock all the product in using setting spray! I usually go for waterproof ones’ – especially if I know that I would move a lot (like going to a party etc).
Product description: Essence You Better Work Fixing spray (Gym proof, sweat resistant and anti-shine)

That is all I do for my face! While this does look like a lot of products and steps, I assure you that it’s easier than it sounds! I blended all the products using a beauty blender and several brushes (just in case you were wondering 😉  ). I usually create a ton of different looks using these techniques- and this is just one of them! 😁

I really hope you enjoyed this blog! If you have any questions regarding these products, don’t hesitate to DM me on my Instagram ( @hey_its_samii) or via email on

My ACNE journey!

Hi beauties! I am finally writing this long-awaited blog post for all of you guys upon many requests during the past few weeks on my Instagram! Sharing with you this journey is nowhere near easy considering I’m still in the recovery process, however, I am always honest and if I can help at least one person feel at ease and comfortable in their own skin, then it’s all worth it!

Of course, I will be sharing with you the story from the very beginning – I want to remind you that certain remedies/medication might not work from you (ALWAYS ask your doctor before taking anything, don’t want you to get hurt babes!). I will also be sharing some (cringe) photos from the past which are unfortunately all with a filter! It is so unfortunate that I had to use filters to make me feel better during these days – hence why I tried my best to exclude edited photos!

When I was around 11, I started noticing strange bumps forming on my face and body. When I told people about them, they told me it was normal for young teenage girls to get acne when they’re expecting Mr.P. Mum bought me new skincare products – and I simply thought that they would be gone by morning (oh boy, was I SO wrong!).

Of course, considering my age, I was more concerned who Hannah Montana was going to pick on her show rather than my appearance. My pimples were very small and honestly, I wouldn’t have considered them acne.

13 rolled around and then I started looking at my skin differently. Why was my skin so red and why does it hurt every day? At this point, classmates were already telling me to “go wash my face” or “pop the big pimple on your nose” and that’s when I started feeling self-conscious about it.

As you know from a previous blog post which I wrote about the time I fell into depression, it was around this time that my mental wellbeing was at a very unhealthy place. This obviously didn’t do my acne any justice and was slowly but surely making it worse.

Make-up, as you all know, has been a passion of mine for years and it was also at this time when I started buying good makeup products. It was a particular foundation that made my acne go ballistic. It made it go from a little red to straight-up cystic acne.

During this time, I visited many doctors who all recommended expensive skin care products – all of which were no success. At this point, I had almost given up on trying to make my skin look and feel better.

After 5 years of going through acne and many skin care products, my mum and I agreed to resort to a gynecologist instead of a dermatologist. Upon arriving in her clinic last May, she immediately ran tests and concluded that I had not only cystic acne but also hormonal and inherited acne.

She did not waste time and immediately prescribed me a course of antibiotics as well as another long term medication. I wasn’t noticing any difference until I saw a photo from a few months back that I noticed that the redness and scars had faded to the point where they seemed invisible!

Nowadays, I am still on and off my long term medication. I obviously do get the occasional breakouts, however, I’m in little to no pain. I also know to test patch my skin before using any kind of product to minimize breakouts, and I also know the products I need to hide acne scars when doing full coverage makeup! (A blog post on how to cover up said scars is coming tomorrow!)

I want you all who suffer from acne to know that it is not something to be ashamed of. It is a so-called condition which affects 80% of people! YES, 80%!

Considering that my mentality and view on acne has changed during the years, I now look at my scars as a victory of a battle which I faced and still am facing. Having acne, acne scars, pigmentation or any other skin condition is nothing to be ashamed of – we must tackle this taboo head on and encourage younger generations that skin conditions are normal and should not affect ones’ self-esteem.

Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing with you my current favourite make-up products that help me hide my scars when wanting a flawless and smooth skin effect – until then…

10 stages of being a sixth form student.

Hi beauties! Welcome back to a Maltese Fashion Addict!

This blog post is the first of 7 coming this week to celebrate hitting 10K on my Instagram! I decided to write something different and fun – and as a sixth form student, I wanted to share a sarcastic twist while sharing the 10 different stages I went through and still am going through.

Phase 1 : I’m so over o-levels, give me new classes!

The mentality us students are able to come up with during our first few weeks is almost unbelieveable – “u issa mhux sa nidejjaq skola! Qed nitgħallem dak li rrid jien!”

Phase 2 : The first sleepless night.

We can all recall the first sleepless night we spent drinking coffee, listening to upbeat music and trying to understand what the SOK lecturer was talking about during the first lecture of the previous morning. “….sustainable development x’jaħbat?

Phase 3 : Getting invited to the first party of the year.

Going out to PV for one night won’t hurt anyone right? I’ll just leave the assignment for tomorrow – I’m sure I’ll be able to do it in a few minutes. “Mela il-Ħadd sa jkun? Uwija – niġi siegħa u naħrab

Phase 4 : Regretting it the next morning.

Why did I take so many shots? Also, why is the bus ride so loud to school? U għalxiex hawn daqshekk traffiku?

Phase 5 : Skipping the first lecture.

This is the point when you have so many assignments that in order to catch up, you need to lose a lecture. Or two. Inkella il-ħbieb tiegħek kollha għandhom xi free and you don’t want to miss out on a crazy hour…not.

Phase 6 : I will catch up – eventually.

Once you miss that first lecture, there is really no going back. “La tlift waħda, nitlef ġurnata sħiħa hux….”

Phase 7 : It’s February already?

But…wasn’t it Christmas 2 days ago? “Daqshekk logħob, issa serjeta biss”

Phase 8 : I’m going to get back on track….one day….maybe next year is my year?

At this point, you’re still recovering from the marks you got on your half yearly’s that you just think about giving up… “Tgħid il-McDonalds’ għandhom paga tajba?”

Phase 9 : Summer mode.

Who cares if it’s mid-April? It’s time to start going to L-Għadira and start having fun – “Dejjem insib bilanċ bejn skola u studju…no hassle“.

Phase 10 : Annuals.

This is the point when you realize you made a huge mistake – but there’s no going back now…nispera ma nfalliex….

All in all, sixth form is truly a time when one has fun and studies – this comes along with a lot of self-discovery, losing friends and gaining more. I encourage all students who plan on eventually going to sixth form to chose wisely, and have fun!

February Monthly Favourites!

Hi beauties! Welcome back to my blog!

In this blog post, I want to share with you my top 5 favourite products which I have used non-stop during the month of February. These products will definitely be coming with me during later months this year!

1. Sephora Coconut Lip Balm.

This lip-balm is the best on the market! I bought one earlier last year during a trip to France, and I have wanted to stock up on this amazing product since then! That is why when one of my friends went abroad, she was sure to stock me up on this!

2. James Charles X Morphe Palette.

Another holy grail which was my favourite of 2018 is 100% still my favourite palette out there. The colours are so versatile – from rainbow to natural looks! The pigments are insane and the formula makes your eyelook last for hours on end!

3. NIVEA MicellAIR professional makeup remover

One of my favourite products I’ve been using this month is the NIVEA make-up remover! You all know how much I love experimenting with make-up looks, so having a remover which removes long lasting and waterproof makeup is a must in my everyday routine! I never find myself rubbing and it leaves no residue – which means that there is no need for rinsing!

4. Rimmel Eyebrow Shake.

Experimenting with eyebrow shapes has been my latest favourite thing to do! I love how such a simple pigment can tie the whole look together! Rimmel Brow Shake filling powder is a definite must in your everyday make-up routine for both natural and bold eyebrows!

5. BioSilk Silk Therapy.

I have been using this amazing leave-in conditioner for ages now, and lately, I incorporated it into my everyday hair routine. I have seen major improvement in my overall hair care, with less split ends and more slick finishes!

That is all for this blog! I am so excited to share more content with you after these exams roll over! Hope to see you soon! X

Charles & Ron Fall/Winter 2019/20 ‘Fabiola’.

Hi beauties! Welcome back to my blog!

Today, I’m sharing with you the new collection by Charles and Ron which was launched during New York Fashion Week on Saturday, 9th February. As always, I follow Charles and Ron on both their local and international journey yet this collection has been the most inspiring of them all.

The collection is called Fabiola and it was a tribute to the Maltese LGBTQ+ icon and their personal friend who recently passed away, Katya Saunders.

This was also a special collection since it’s the first one that features male clothing which yet opens another door for the Maltese fashion industry. I am going to go through all the looks on the runway and share with you my opinions on the whole collection at the end!

All these looks are simply amazing – so it’s rather hard to choose my favourite! I have to admit that the old Maltese jewelry design like the one on the third look absolutely stole my heart! The drama of look 13 is my cup of tea and the earrings are also a very stylish factor which made each outfit a lot better!

This collection has to be one of my all time favourite collections! As always, Charles and Ron left a very positive impression on not only the people who were at the NYFW show, but on fashion addicts all over the world!

What was your favourite look? Let me know over on Instagram!

2000’s fashion in 2019?

Hi beauties! HAPPY ONE YEAR BLOG-IVERSARY! Just a year ago, I launched this blog without the intention of any achievements and ended up experiencing the most amazing memories!

I was born in 2001 – the year Wikipedia was born, Apple released their first iPod and the year Destiny’s Child was on the number one charts worldwide. This is why in today’s blog post, I decided to search for 2000’s iconic pieces and find something which is advertised in 2019 with the same features and more modern aesthetic.

Starting off with one of the most iconic looks of the 00’s – monochromatic tracksuits! Worn by celebrities like Paris Hilton to the Cheetah girls, tracksuits are now still very much in style! The velvet material now changed into polyester and cotton interlock – and is advertised by many companies such as Adidas and Nike.

Picture 1: Paris Hilton rocking the Red Velvet tracksuit with the iconic cropped style and black runners.
Picture 2 : Khloe Kardashian is wearing this tracksuit by Adidas – then took it to the next level by pairing a pair of heeled-booties and designer sunglasses!

If you follow me on Instagram, then you absolutely know my love for denim-on-denim outfits. While I did have a love-hate relationship with the style a few months ago, I have grown to love the simple and laid back look while giving a nod to 2000’s fashion! Worn by Britney Spears and the members of the Back Street boys in the early 2000s to Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid nowadays!

Picture 1: Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake rolled up to the 2001’s American Music Awards wearing these denim on denim outfits!
Picture 2: Photographed by the Paparazzi, Gigi Hadid stuns in this denim on denim outfit. She threw in some current favs – which include a pair of red heeled boots and an iconic snake-print purse!

Crop tops are something which almost never goes out of style – however, it was only decent to acknowledge the fact that crop tops were one of the big things during the early 2000s. Crop tops were paired with a pair of low-rise jeans and a high waisted thong – and it usually consisted of a lot of bling! Nowadays, we tend to use more neutral colours like Kendall Jenner did in this amazing outfit.

Picture 1: Jennifer Lopez rocked this all white and bling outfit by Sean John tank to the 2000s MTV VMAs!
Picture 2: Kendall Jenner joined her sis Kourtney in LA in a pajama crop top which is the most extra pajama piece I’ve ever laid my eyes on!

Last but not least, name-plated necklaces made a big comeback earlier last year! I, for one, am a big fan of such necklaces yet I don’t own one (future wishlist? x)! Having something personalized and a timeless piece is truly an amazing accessory! Carrie from Sex and the City was definitely the starting point for this trend – and it’s still worn by celebrities like Kim KW.

Picture 1: Carrie from Sex and the City wears her personalized gold-plated necklace.
Picture 2: Kim Kardashian West has her eldest daughters’ name engraved on this gold plated bar with a tiny diamond.

That is all for this ‘trend’ blog – something I aspire to do more on A Maltese Fashion Addict in the near future. What was your favourite trend on this list? Let me know by leaving a comment or post it on your IG stories to start up a convo in my DMs!
